Project Description

Client: The Church Committee, Elim Church

Project: Construction of a new church and ancillary services for the Elim Community

Location: Elim Church, Ballybay Rd., Monaghan

Year Completed:   30th November 2012

Value: €1.3 million

Project Particulars:

The project was a new build on a green field site. It measures approximately 450m2 and is situated on the edge of Monaghan Town.

The Task

The Client required a building which had, a main worship area, catering facilities, family rooms and recreation space along with all the necessary renewable energy to make the structure practicable to maintain.

Project Delivery: The building consisted of some modern curtain walling, traditional stone work and standard block construction. We have demonstrated all aspects of modern day construction methods within the confines of this building. In order to provide the optimum efficiency for heating, we installed underfloor heating which is delivered using heat pumps. This provides a very comfortable back ground heat on a continuous basis at an affordable price. Coupled with the highest insulation values , this has given the Client a structure, which while it is not a residential setting, it provides all the necessary elements associated with such a building.

The Outcome: This religious community have now expanded their boundaries as a result of the added space and accommodation provided by the new building. They now operate within a building that meets their requirements and does so as efficiently as possible.
